Daniel is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Institute for Sustainability, Energy and Environment (iSEE) at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He holds a Ph.D. in Crop Science from the University of Helsinki, and M.S in Agronomy from the University of Nairobi. His current research is focused on evaluating ecosystem services (GHG emissions, soil quality, water quality and quantity), and biomass productivity of row crops and energy type perennial grasses established in marginal lands. His research interests include sustainable agriculture, cover crops, NPK nutrition, remotely sensed phenotyping, and drought stress.
