Gevan is a former postdoctoral researcher for the Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment (iSEE) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He received his Ph.D. in Crop Science and M.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Science both from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Behnke’s previous research focused on crop growth and development from a variety of cropping systems, ecosystem services (greenhouse gas emissions, soil and water quality, marginal land management), and leads the agrivoltaic (SCAPES) project. Additionally, he organized daily operations such as purchasing, safety protocols, and undergraduate hiring in Dr. Lee’s Lab. Gevan is now a lecturer and online programs coordinator for the Crop Science department.
