Kayla is a graduate student in the Crop Sciences program. She has B.S. degrees in Agronomy and Plant Biotechnology from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her research focus is fiber crops and agronomy. Other research interests include plant cellular microscopy, sustainable agriculture practices, and greenhouse gas emissions from cropland. Kayla is also passionate about teaching, and earned a Teacher Scholar certificate to improve her communication and educating skills. Outside of research, Kayla is involved in several organizations. She is currently the TA Liaison on the Crop Sciences Graduate Organization leadership board, the Graduate Representative on the Crop Sciences Graduate Program Committee, and a member of the Sola Gratia Farm (Non-Profit) Board of Directors.
