Chunhwa is a research scientist in the Lee lab. She has a M.S. in Regional Infrastructure Engineering from the Kangwon National University in Korea and a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Jang’s research focuses on advancing sustainable bioenergy crop production systems and analyzing the genetic, environment, and management (GxExM) interaction of crops. She leads the CABBI project to improve sustainable sorghum and miscanthus feedstock quantity and quality and to control greenhouse gas emissions and nitrogen leaching. Dr. Jang specializes in remote sensing, imagery processing, geographic information systems (GIS), and statistics using R.
